Hippodrome 3R Racing Returns Friday With Stakes Action
Hippodrome 3R returns with live harness racing action on Friday, Aug. 11 after a mid-season break for the Grand Prix auto races in the town of Trois-Rivieres, Que.
The Friday twilight 10-race card begins at 4 p.m. and will feature two $10,000 divisions of the second round of the Future Stars Series for two-year-old trotting fillies and colts.
The fillies are the first on display in the fifth race. The morning line favourite is Kenogami Queen (Wheeling N Dealin-Kenogami Darling) from post three for driver Stephane Brosseau and trainer Jean-Francois Reid. She was able to lead from start to finish in the opening round, winning for the first time in her young career by 2-3/4 lengths in 2:04.3. Her main competition will be second-place finisher Sensi Amnesia (Post 2) and JD Beauty (Post 1).
The colts and geldings will battle in the eighth race where opening round winner Wild Dream Men (Kadabra-Cersei Hanover) drew the inside post for trainer/driver Guy Gagnon. In his last start, Wild Dream Men actually started in the second tier from post nine, ended up being parked first-over and still came on in the stretch to win by three-quarters of a length in 2:05.4 over the sloppy track. Other contenders include Vol De Banque (Post 4), who was second in the opening round, Paradise Moni (Post 3) and Drinklikehenry (Post 7).
