After enjoying a good trip sitting third until mid-stretch, Corey Callahan pulled Monochromatic to the outside and quick stepped to the front in 1:52, for a new lifetime record. North State Street Stable owns the Dream Away-Miss Ty seven-year-old, who posted her first win of the year. She has won $412,955 in her career. Mystra, with Brad Hanners in the bike, led for the most of the mile before yielding for second. No Bad Luck, closed from last for Montrell Teague to take third money.
Mach Lady won a four-horse dash to the finish line to win a $19,000 Mares Winners Over Pace in 1:54.2. Ken Wood, Bill Dittmar and Steve Iaquinta own the four-year-old daughter of Mach Three-Tampa Town, who was driven by Ross Wolfenden to her third win in five starts this year. Freedom Crossing (Tim Tetrick) was a neck back in second with Docdor Libby (Ron Pierce) third.
Timmylynn, the filly that Tony Morgan drove for his 14,000th career victory last month, collaborated again. The Ponder-Armbro Winter filly returned to the winner’s circle after a 1:54.3 triumph in an $18,000 3,4&5-Year-Old Filly Pace. Richard Crammer, Ty Case’s Black Dog Racing and trainer Bob Reeser own the four-time winner this season. She has not been out of the money in six starts. Happy Hour Hottie (Ross Wolfenden) made it close, finishing second. Rolltideroll (Ron Pierce) was the show finisher.
Hall of Famer Ron Pierce and If Only You Knew starting from Post 8 in a Delaware $15,000 Mares Claiming Allowance were overlooked to the tune of 50-1 before turning in a 1:53.4 victory. The six-year-old returned $102.40 for a $2 win ticket.
Ross Wolfenden led all drivers with five wins. Tim Tetrick won three. Ron Pierce, owner-trainer Tony Domino, trainer Eric Ell and owners Ken Wood and Bill Dittmar completed the day with two wins each.
