The Wins Keep Coming For Kelly At Track On 2
A runaway leader in The Track On 2 standings, Dave Kelly continued to parade the pacers back to the winner's circle on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 6).
Kelly won half of Sunday's 10 races, starting in the second race with his own trainee, three-year-old pacing gelding Lunch Pail Guy ($2.60), who went from last to first in the stretch to break his maiden in 1:59. Kelly also capped off his five-win day with a winner from his own stable as five-year-old gelding Show Stop ($6.20) slipped inside from the pocket to prevail in the featured $5,800 eighth race in 1:54.2 over slight favourite Whiplash Smile.
In between his stable's wins, Kelly also picked up victories driving Therealgoods ($10.20) for trainer Richard Schneider, Jedi Tricks ($5.80) for the Brent Bodor stable and Catfish Jack ($5.50) for conditioner Kelly Crump.
With his driving win count now at 23 for the Track On 2 meet, Kelly extended his leading margin to 16 with Mike Hennessy holding second-place in the standings after a pair of Sunday successes of his own. Kelly also sits atop the trainer leaderboard with 16 wins.
