Yoda Queen Repeats In Prospect Series
Yoda Queen lasted on the lead in the $8,800 third leg of the Prospect Series for three-year-old pacing fillies on Sunday afternoon (July 30) at Dresden Raceway.
Sent straight to the lead from the inside post by driver Andy Moore, 9-5 favourite Yoda Queen turned back a third quarter challenge from Oh Gouda (Jonathan Hahn) then held off pocket pursuer Steadyaswego (Garrett Rooney) by a head at the end of the 1:57.2 mile. Oh Gouda settled for third.
Yoda Queen now has back-to-back wins in the provincial series after opening the month of July with a Prospect win at Hiawartha Horse Park for trainer/owner Jamie Doig.
Winless in five starts as a two-year-old, the All Bets Off filly sports a sophomore record reading 4-4-1 from 13 starts, including a victory in the City Of London Series final at Western Fair Raceway.
Dresden Raceway's live harness racing season will wrap up on Monday, Aug. 7.
