Starter Spins Out In Front Of Field
A starting car in New Zealand turned itself into a stopping car after spinning out some 250 metres in front of a field of pacers in New Zealand on Tuesday
.
At Franklin Trotting Club, the second race of the day was nearly marred by tragedy as the field of maiden pacers had to make an abrupt stop before heading into the first turn. To the credit of the drivers involved in the 13-horse race, all the horses but one avoided colliding with the gate.
The race proceeded without the starting car as the clerk of the course guided the horses through a rolling start.
