Duke Lavictoire Romps At Rideau
Duke Lavictoire led the field of six in the $10,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at Rideau Carleton Raceway on Thursday (July 13) evening from gate-to-wire, stepping off to a 6-1/2-length victory.
Pascal Berube and the Andre Lachance trainee made every call through panels in :28.4, :57.1 and 1:25.1 before striding out to a career-best achievement in 1:54.3. Favoured Black Tie Bash (Robert Shepherd) was second and Raising Rusty (Stephane Pouliot) finished third.
Suzanne Lavictoire owns the five-year-old gelded Duke Lavictoire as he pushed his career earnings to $102,141 with 19 wins. He paid $16.50 to win.
Trainer Mandy Archer sent out four winners on the evening card with Nelsoneddy Hanover (Shepherd, 1:57.1), Never Mind N (Guy Gagnon, 1:57.4), Pray And Hustle (G. Gagnon, 1:59.2), and Speaker Nancy (Shepherd, 1:53.1).
