Acefortyfour Elvis, Warrawee Yuri Take Prospect Series Splits
Two divisions of the second leg of the Prospect Series for three-year-old trotting colts were contested at Hanover Raceway on Saturday (July 8) afternoon and they were won by Acefortyfour Elvis and Warrawee Yuri.
Leaving from post four in the field of six in the $8,600 division, Acefortyfour Elvis and Tyler Borth were parked to the quarter in :30.1 before securing a spot on the pylons. The pair set the tempo through panels in 1:01.2 and 1:31.1 before taking off down the stretch to win by 2-3/4 lengths in 2:01.4. My One Percent (Brett MacDonald) finished second and Leading Resolve (Bruce Richardson) was third.
Acefortyfour Elvis is a three-year-old gelding owned by Wendy Warren-Timpano and Denise Carr. Unraced as a freshman, the Mike Timpano trainee has a record of 7-5-1 in 17 starts this season. Acefortyfour Elvis paid $5.60 to win.
In the $8,500 division, Warrawee Yuri and Mario Baillargeon left hard from the inside to earn the top spot. The pair never looked back as they set fractions in :30.1, 1:02.4 and 1:34.1 before taking the win by 1-3/4 lengths in 2:04. Its A Long Story (Anthony Haughan) rode the pocket trip to a second-place finish and P C Mercury Rising (Colin Kelly) was third.
Warrawee Yuri, trained by Baillargeon, was also unraced as a freshman and has a seasonal record of 3-1-2 in nine starts. The three-year-old Kadabra colt is owned by Thestable Warrawee Yuri. The colt paid $3.20 to win.
