Extra Heat Precautions Taken For Woodstock Card
Officials with Horse Racing New Brunswick wish to advise participants that the card of harness racing slated for Friday (July 7) is still a go despite the heat warnings issued.
There will be a cooling station for horses immediately after racing near the paddock. Horses will enter the track with zero minutes to post, proceed with one score and head to the gate.
There will be at least one on-site veterinarian for this evening's race card.
After consultations with the Atlantic Provinces Harness Racing Commission, any horseperson wishing to scratch on account of the heat will be permitted without penalty.
Participants are reminded to monitor their athletes closely and to utilize tips to keep horses cool.
