A Second Helping Of Hot Fudge Sundae

Dresden Raceway racing

Dresden Raceway fans got a second helping of Hot Fudge Sundae as the Angie Carroll-trained trotter doubled up in the featured Preferred 3 Handicap on Sunday afternoon.

Leaving outside his four foes in this week's $5,000 top trot, Hot Fudge Sundae and driver Alfie Carroll worked to the lead by the quarter pole in :29 and cruised through middle splits of :59.2 and 1:30.2 en route to 2:01 victory over the 'good' track. Daylon Midnight (Garrett Rooney) overtook favourite Eyes Of Justice (Dan Clements) late up the inside for the runner-up honours, finishing 2-1/4 lengths behind the winner, who returned $5.10 as the 3-2 second choice.

Angie Carroll also co-owns Hot Fudge Sundae with Mary Carroll. The six-year-old Kadabra-A Sundae On Sunday gelding earned his second consecutive win and 14th victory lifetime, lifting his bankroll to $92,744.

Live harness racing continues next Sunday at Dresden Raceway with Harness The Hope Day featuring Prospect Series action on track.
