Hennessey 'Stickhandles' To Score
Although he had to take a pass on Saturday night's NHL home game for his beloved Florida Panthers against Nashville in favour of race bike duty, driver Wally Hennessey found a way to do some stickhandling anyway
.
Late in the stretch of the $12,000 purse Open Handicap Pace, Hennessey's charge Forty Carrots appeared to be hopelessly blocked after enjoying a pocket trip behind B N Bad, driven by Joe Pavia Jr. Deep Finesse, in rein to Jason Dillander, had gone first over in the final half to come away with the stretch lead and closing hard out widest was Drive All Night with Anthony Napolitano in tow. At the last possible moment, Hennessey wheeled Forty Carrots through between that pair to nail the photo finish decision in a life's mark clocking of 1:51 flat.
Forty Carrots is racing in Florida from the Kim and Jay Sears stable for owners Richard Clair of Stafford, Virginia and Lance Gordon of Clinton, New York. The five-year-old pacer by Riverboat King-Mathamomics is now a career winner of $220,570.
On the ideal 80 degree evening ideal for speed, David Ingraham delivered the night's major longshot at 43-1 in a $6,000 purse conditioned pace with Buggsy Yankee in 1:53.3. It was the second training win in 10 starts at the meet for owner-trainer Leith Waite of Summerside, P.E.I. The Western Hanover-Breathe six-year-old gelding is co-owned by Leslie Waite of Charlottetown, P.E.I., and topped a $2 trifecta of over $65,000 on the eighth race, in addition to concluding a Pick 4 payout of more than $17,200.

I have been here for a long
I have been here for a long time and had a pleasure to drive against and get to know "Wall" on a personal basis and last night this was one of those drives that makes you go "Wow" ...He is a true hall of fame'r in every way and he seems to be like a fine wine , he gets better with age ...If you have a chance to watch the replay it will be worth your time ...If he keeps this up getting to 10,000 wins will happen sooner then later ..
Thanks for being someone to learn from ...
