Kiss Me Bad Seeks Series Sweep
Kiss Me Bad is halfway through making a sweep of the Quebec-Bred Series for older pacers. She has won her first two preliminary legs and goes for a third win on Sunday (June 25) at Hippodrome 3R.
Owned, trained and driven most of the time by Steven Gagnon of Sorel-Tracy, Que., Kiss Me Bad will start from post nine on Sunday and faces eight rivals in the seventh race co-feature, the third and final preliminary round. The $30,000 series finale is set for Sunday, July 9.
In both her impressive wins in the series, Kiss Me Bad has come first-over and wore down the pacesetters en route to victory. Both wins were in identical times of 1:56.4.
Her main competitors in the race are Lili GL (post four), Platine Alpha (post three) and Celia Bayama (post two).
The older horses compete in the fifth race for the Quebec-Bred Series and the race is headlined by Aladdin from post three for driver Stephane Brosseau.
Trained by Maxime Velaye, Aladdin is a four-year-old gelding that was bred and is owned by Guy Corbeil of Mirabel, Que. In the opening round of the series, Aladdin scored a 1:54.2 victory, the fastest mile of the season at 3R. Last week, he was second to rival The Light Speed, who is not entered this Sunday.
Mickeymaksomespeed goes from post four for driver Jocelyn Gendron and is always in the hunt for trainer-owner-breeder Michel Allard. Other contenders include Stock (post one), Cyclone Joe (post five) and D Gs De Vito (post two).
