Liberty Rose N Repeats In Meadows Claiming Feature
Hammered down to 4-5, Liberty Rose N lived up to expectations, capturing her second straight win in Thursday’s feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,500 filly and mare claiming handicap.
Liberty Rose N needed the entire :27 opening panel to reach the point for Aaron Merriman, but she was on cruise control thereafter. The nine-year-old daughter of Mach Three-Lyse Doucet held off the pocket-sitting Priceless Shadow by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:53.1, with Hired Luck third.
Justin Lloyd owns and trains Liberty Rose N, who pushed her lifetime bankroll to $296,222.
Ronnie Wrenn Jr. piloted four winners, including a pair for trainer Ron Burke, on the 12-race card.
Live harness racing at The Meadows continues on Friday when the 12-race program features a pair of carryovers: $1,620.23 in the Early Pentafecta (Race 4), $1,657.99 in the Pick 5 (Race 8). First post is 5:10 p.m.
