Sweet And Feisty Streaks To Meadows Open Win
Parked for more than a quarter, Sweet And Feisty dug deep to hold off the late challenge of Lydeo and extend her winning streak to four in Thursday’s $21,200 Filly & Mare Open Handicap Pace at The Meadows.
Sweet And Feisty faced no serious pressure outside, but when the ground-saving Lydeo came off the cones for the drive, the battle was on. The four-year-old daughter of Sweet Lou-Fast And Fiesty downed Lydeo by a head in 1:51.2 for Ronnie Wrenn Jr. while Best Head West rallied for show.
Sweet And Feisty now has banked $124,099 for trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
Hunter Myers and Dave Palone joined trainer Ashley Brown with two wins on the 12-race card.
Live harness racing at The Meadows continues on Friday, with first post at 5:10 p.m.
