Last Bet A Convincing Winner In Meadows Feature

Parked the entire opening panel, Last Bet still had plenty in the tank to score convincingly in Wednesday’s feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $13,400 claiming handicap pace.
The 1-1 favourite, Last Bet wrested the early lead from Western Perch. The pair raced that way through the wire, with Last Bet prevailing by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:52. Golden Gesture was a ground-saving third.
Ronnie Wrenn Jr. piloted the winner, a five-year-old Bettors Delight-West Of L A gelding who boosted his career bankroll to $135,069, for owner/trainer Stacey Currie.
Aaron Merriman and Wrenn each collected three wins on the 12-race card.
Live harness racing at The Meadows continues on Thursday when the 12-race program features a $1,124.17 carryover in the Early Pentafecta (Race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m.
