Canada's First Two-Year-Old Qualifying Winner Back In Action
After a successful qualifying outing on Saturday, May 27 as Canada's first two-year-old qualifying winner of 2023, Myretirementdream will look for his first pari-mutuel victory this coming Saturday, June 3 at Hiawatha Horse Park.
Last weekend, Myretirementdream made his first appearance impressively for Ingersoll, Ont.'s Eli Wagler, the rookie's breeder, owner, trainer and driver. The son of Il Sogno Dream out of Wagler's Ontario Sires Stakes graduate Myretirementticket forged first up and pulled away to a 2-1/2 length victory in 2:01.2 to become the first two-year-old of 2023 to win a qualifier in Canada.
Myretirementdream is the first foal of Myretirementticket (pictured above winning at Mohawk), who Wagler also bred and campaigned to eight career wins — six in the OSS program — and more than $121,000 in earnings.
Drawing post nine for his first pari-mutuel test on Saturday in Sarnia's first race of the card, Myretirementdream is the 3-1 third choice on the morning line with Wagler down to drive.
More of Canada's 2023 two-year-olds will be in action during a trio of qualifiers on Friday, June 2 at Woodbine Mohawk Park. Be sure to keep tabs on harness racing's two-year-olds throughout the year by using the Two-Year-Old Winners By Sire page on the SC website.
