Time To Dance Prevails In Charlottetown

Time To Dance was in familiar territory Saturday evening (May 27) as he landed in the winner’s circle in the Preferred Pace at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Jason Hughes picked up the catch-drive for trainer Marc Campbell in the $3,800 Preferred 1 Pace and took advantage of the early break in stride by post three starter and stablemate Roll Em (driven by Marc Campbell). Time To Dance firmly grabbed the lead from post four and went through fractions of :26.4, :57.1 and 1:26.2 before closing in :27.4 for a 1:54.1 victory over pocket-sitter Batterup Hanover (Paul Langille) with Avatar J (Gilles Barrieau) third.

Time To Dance is owned by Brent Campbell in partnership with Brady Doyle, Kent MacDonald and Ryan MacLeod.

With Roll Em out of the tickets, the 4-1-2 triactor paid out at $351.20 while a single 20-cent superfecta swept the entire pool.

Hughes had a driving triple on the night also winning with Montrose Hope (1:57.1 winning mile) for trainer Wayne Hubbard and Leavin Bruises (1:57.1) for trainer Wade Myers.

Rollwithhottytoddy was the quickest on the evening as driver Campbell spun the Trevor Hicken-trained and owned four-year-old around the legendary oval in 1:52.3 in Race 9.

Captaintreacherous three-year-old Now Showing remains undefeated on the East Coast after winning his third straight in Race 6 with a 1:55.2 trip for driver Corey MacPherson and conditioner Leith Waite.

Live racing continues Sunday afternoon (May 28) at 1 p.m. (ADT) at Red Shores Summerside with the P.E.I. Colt Stakes for three-year-old pacers.
