Dunn Picks Up Elitloppet Catch-Drive
Dexter Dunn, a Christchurch, New Zealand native and four-time U.S. Driver of the Year, has picked up a catch-drive in the 2023 Elitloppet, according to reports from Sweden.
Sulkysport.se has reported that Dunn will replace Magnus A Djuse as driver of Swedish Elitloppet contender Stoletheshow for trainer Frode Hamre in the May 28 main event at Solvalla Race Course.
Stoletheshow earned his spot in the Elitloppet courtesy of a victory earlier this month in the Finlandia Ajo at Vermo Racetrack in Finland. The eight-year-old son of Dream Vacation has 23 victories, including the 2022 Oslo Grand Prix, from 73 starts. He is owned by Global Glide AB.
Sulkysport.se has also reported that Dunn has picked up a mount in the three-year-old filly race on Elitloppet day, listed on Kitty Hawk for trainer Stefan P Pettersson and owner Anders Ström's Stall Courant AB.
The Elitloppet field of invitees currently includes San Moteur (Sweden), Etonnant (France), Vivid Wise As (Italy), Just Believe (Australia), Önas Prince (Sweden), Go On Boy (France), Don Fanucci Zet (Sweden), Hohneck (France), Stoletheshow (Sweden), Hail Mary (Sweden), Brother Bill (Sweden), Vernissage Grif (Italy).
