Kameran Hanover Powers In London Preferred
Camilla Christoforou trainee Kameran Hanover ground uncovered on the rim and dug into the tempo-setter to then down him in the closing strides of a 1:56.4 mile in the $13,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Tuesday night (May 16).
Scene A Magician set a clip of :28.1 and :58.3 while Kameran Hanover raced fourth and soon got underway first over with just over a lap remaining. Kameran Hanover crept closer to Scene A Magician up the backstretch to draw within a length of the lead at three-quarters in 1:27. Scene A Magician maintained the advantage and cut the corner to scoot 1-1/2 lengths clear, but Kameran Hanover gathered his momentum upon straightening and collared the long-time leader at the pole to win by a head. Sizzlen Hot Herbie followed the winner’s move to take third and Massive Profit settled for fourth.
Kameran Hanover competes for owners Camilla Christoforou and Irvann Holdings Inc. The nine-year-old stallion by Donato Hanover notched his 23rd win from 172 tries and has now earned $460,645. Jason Ryan drove the $4.60 winner.
