Sports Creek Raceway owner Joseph O. Sacco passed away on Thursday, Feb. 23 at the age of 83

.

Sacco was born in in Chicago, Illinois on June 2, 1928. He was a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada for 13 years, and formerly of West Bloomfield for 20 years.

Sacco was a veteran of the Merchant Marines. He owned Sports Creek Raceway in Swartz Creek, Michigan and loved to play golf.

Beloved husband of Catherine. Dear father of Joanne Gawronski (Martin), Michael (Michelle), Susie Bokshan, Rosemarie Irwin and the late Cathy Knack. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A funeral service will take place on Monday, Feb. 27 at 10 a.m. at A. J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 32515 Woodward Ave., Royal Oak. Family will receive friends Sunday, Feb. 26 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield, Michigan.
