Rock Of Cashel Victorious In Vernon Feature
Dylan Huckabone Miller drove Rock Of Cashel to victory in the featured $7,500 trot on Saturday night (May 6) at Vernon Downs.
Immediately, Rock Of Cashel went to the front and led to the quarter in :28.1. Discus Hanover took control in the first turn to lead at the half in :57.3 and through to three-quarters in 1:27. As they made the turn for home, Rock Of Cashel blew by to win in 1:55.2. Katkin Morgan finished second and Lepanto third.
Rock Of Cashel is a 13-year-old horse by Majestic Son. He is trained by Mark Harder for owners Joseph Jannuzzelli and Jeffrey Ruch. This was his second win of the season and the 56th of his career. He paid $14.40 to win.
John MacDonald had a driving grand slam at Vernon Downs on Saturday. MacDonald got wins with Sugaree Express ($6.70 to win), Bridgestone ($6.10), Syracuse Express ($2.60) and Kisses From Above ($2.70).
David Dewhurst ended the night with a training triple and Jessica Okusko with a training double. Huckabone-Miller and Jimmy Whittemore both earned driving doubles.
