Harrington Open Goes To Heinikin Bythebay
KDK Standardbreds' Heinikin Bythebay was a 1:53.1 winner in the featured $20,000 Open Pace on Monday at Harrington Raceway, while trainer Crissy Crissman-Bier had four wins on the evening.
Heinikinbythebay ($2.80, Art Stafford Jr.), a four-year-old Southwind Lynx gelding, controlled the tempo most of the race in a confident triumph over Outclassed and Ollies Z Tam. The Kevin Switzer trainee recorded his fifth win of the season and boosted his seasonal bankroll to nearly $90,000.
On the undercard, Vince Bradley and Trinity Pilkington's Never Say Never N ($32, Allan Davis) won one of two $40,000 to $50,000 claiming handicaps in 1:53.2 for trainer Bart Bradley. Melvin Fink's Advance Man ($4.80, Corey Callahan) notched his third win early in the meet in the remaining division in 1:54.3 in one of four wins on the card for trainer Crissman-Bier, who also scored wins with Effingham ($2.80, Corey Callahan), Ideal Flip ($9.80, Ross Wolfenden), Cantnobodytelmenothn ($7.80, Wolfenden). Fink-owned horses won three races on the program.
