Big Bad Jenn Nabbed Fifth Straight
Fresh off a claim, Big Bad Jenn continued her winning ways on Saturday night (April 22) at Flamboro Downs to snag her fifth consecutive win when taking a $6,200 claiming pace in 1:57.4.
Driver Sam Fillion sent the new addition to the Gerard Demers stable for the top from post five and cleared before a :28.1 first quarter. She then grabbed a breather to a :59 half, which prompted odds-on favourite Cranberry Brie to pull first over from fourth. Cranberry Brie continued to push along the rim to three-quarters in 1:28 but her challenge fell to faint hooves as Big Bad Jenn spurted away. The seven-year-old Big Bad John mare spun for home and opened 5-1/4 lengths on Cranberry Brie to the finish while Dana Salaam gave chase in third and Nothingcomparestou settled for fourth.
Big Bad Jenn has now won 17 times from 116 starts and has earned $72,465. She paid $5.40 to win.
After her victory at Flamboro Downs, she was again claimed and returns to the Stewart McQueen barn for the price of $8,750.
