Henry Unveils OSS Hopeful
After testing the waters without success in the Ontario Sires Stakes program in 2011, pacing filly St Lads Hottie appeared to be all grown up in the first win of her three-year-old season on the Tuesday, February 21 program at The Isle Casino Racing Pompano Park
.
St Lads Hottie, a strapping filly by Lis Mara out of Hot Butter, defeated a group of maiden fillies in 1:57.1 for her first career win, which included a final quarter of :28.3 with trainer Wayne Henry in the bike. The sister to former OSS two-year-old sensation St Lads Popcorn, a winner of almost $655,000 in her career, was an $8,500 purchase by Shelley Henry of Arthur, Ont. and Jack McVicar of Alvinston, Ont. at the 2010 Standardbred Canada sale as hip number 116.
