Saulsbrook Victor

After getting foiled the last few weeks, Saulsbrook Victor returned to the winner’s circle following the $42,000 Free For All Pace at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday night (April 22) off a coast-to-coast 1:50.4 win over a track rated “good.”

Driver Austin Sorrie sent Saulsbrook Victor from post six to take the lead to a :27 first quarter with Wheels On Fire sitting second. The field sat single file by a :56 half and continued mostly in line to three-quarters in 1:24 before Saulsbrook Victor accelerated in the sprint for home. Sauslbrook Victor kept a 2-1/2-length advantage on Wheels On Fire in the lane to take the overnight feature with Momas Son Byrne finishing third and Points North closing for fourth.

Ronald MacDonald trains Saulsbrook Victor, a five-year-old gelding by Source Of Pride, for owners Brett MacDonald and Brent MacLennan. The pacer won his 16th race from 57 starts and has now earned $337,405. He paid $7.50 to win.

Also winning last night in The Ontario Graduate Series was Cold Creek Queso, who is now two-for-two in 2023. He's also staked to what I guess you would call The North American Graduate Series since it's open to all 4yoph's on the continent. The opening leg is at Mohawk on 6/3.
