Flite Craft Soars Again At The Meadows

Flite Craft

Flite Craft scored his second straight blowout victory, winning the $12,500 second leg of the Tom Kirwan Memorial for three-year-old colt and gelding pacers on Saturday (April 22) at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows. The series final is set for Saturday, April 29.

Flite Craft blew the field away with a 27-second third quarter for Mike Wilder and jogged off to a 5-1/4-length win in 1:51.3 over a “good” surface. The pocket-sitting Slipmeamiki held on for place, with Be The Captain third. Flite Craft’s combined victory margin in the two series legs is nine lengths.

Norm Parker trains the A Rocknroll Dance-Kitty Kitty Hawk gelding for Tenpin Stable, Albert Parker, Ryan Parker and Tom Klosky Jr.

Wilder and Parker teamed for another win when Wild Wild Western withstood late challenges inside and outside to take the $21,200 Open Handicap Pace in 1:51.1. Sandbetweenmytoes and JMs Finaltreasure finished second and third, respectively. Jacobs Creek Racing, Andrew Altobelli and Jon Deters campaign the seven-year-old son of Western Ideal-Caila Fra, who now has banked $573,171 in his career.

Aaron Merriman and Wilder each fashioned a triple on the 12-race card. Those three victories lifted Wilder’s total for the four-day race week to 12.

Live harness racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday, first post 12:45 p.m.
