Chulo Rockets In Mohawk Qualifiers

Chulo posted the fastest qualifying time on the Friday (April 14) morning qualifying card at Woodbine Mohawk Park after winning the four-year-old and older trot in 1:53.1.

Chulo sprinted out of the gate and was the first to the front. Driver Jonathan Drury and Chulo were up by four lengths at the quarter in :27.4, eight lengths at the half in :55.3, and 15 lengths at the three-quarters in 1:23.4. With a last quarter in :29.2, Chulo won by 14 lengths in 1:53.1. 

Carmen Auciello trains Chulo for Daniel Sarafian, Stephen Klunowski, Kevin McKinlay, and Brandon Guerra. The four-year-old son of What The Hill has $205,671 in lifetime earnings with five career wins.

Moonstruck won the three-year-old pacing qualifying race in 1:53.3, the second fastest time on the card. Moonstruck sat in the pocket behind Miss Canada through the quarter in :28 and half in :57. At the three-quarters in 1:25.4, driver Doug McNair pulled the Sunshine Beach daughter first over and they sped home to win by 1-3/4 lengths.
