New General Manager At Hanover Raceway
When Hanover Raceway's 2023 harness racing season begins this spring, a new General Manager will be at the helm.
Scott Price joined the team at the Hanover, Ont. half-mile track following the 2022 meet and hopes to build on the longstanding tradition and history of success Hanover Raceway is known for.
"It is hard to find someone in the sport of harness racing that has not heard of the Hanover Raceway, which is a sign of success the racetrack has proven," Price told Trot Insider. "My goal is to build on this success and try to bring a new generation of younger harness racing fans to the track."
Price, who has honed his horse knowledge through family involvement, has a professional background in technical and sales management in the electrical and electronic manufacturing industry, and was also instrumental in the startup and growth of two companies over the past decade.
“Scott comes to our organization with both a strong background as a General Manager as well as a strong sales and marketing history," said Adam Chalmers, President of the Hanover, Bentinck & Brant Agricultural Society, which operates Hanover Raceway. "We look forward to seeing where Scott will be able to take us.”
Price takes over as the track's GM from Steve Fitzsimmons, who relocated to Nova Scotia and assumed the GM role at Truro Raceway.
Hanover Raceway's 2023 season of harness racing begins on Saturday, June 3 with post time at 1:30 p.m. The meet will include 15 race dates on most Saturdays through Sept. 16. For a complete list of race dates, click here.
