Truro Announces Racing Analysts For 2023 Season
Truro Raceway has named a pair of On-Air Racing Analysts who will host its broadcast for the upcoming harness racing season.
Melissa Keith and Grady Hachey will serve as On-Air Racing Analysts at the Nova Scotia half-mile track when the 2023 season opens on Sunday, May 7.
Keith is a Nova Scotia native who is well known across Canada as both a professional handicapper for multiple tracks and an award-winning journalist. Her work has included providing her “Tips from @TheTriactor” as Truro Raceway's handicapper last season. She will be returning in that capacity as well for 2023.
Hachey is a Fredericton, N.B. native and is a current columnist for Atlantic Post Calls, providing New Brunswick racing coverage. He has the distinction of having called his first race as a track announcer at 11 years old. Hachey also works part-time for trainer Charlie Miles.
“I had never met Ms. Keith until I arrived in Nova Scotia, but I have long enjoyed her work as a journalist and broadcaster," said Steve Fitzsimmons, General Manager at Truro Raceway. "She is very well known across the country and respected in our industry. I couldn’t be more thrilled to have her join our on-air team.
"Grady is a young man who has a lot of talent and knowledge and a great deal of potential," continued Fitzsimmons. "I’ve worked with several other talented young broadcasters who have been successful and I feel he has similar qualities to them. I’m looking forward to working with him and I know fans will enjoy what Mel and Grady will bring to them as our on-air team this season.”
The racetrack will be adding a pre-game show this season, which will feature an interview each week conducted by Marketing Assistant Kaitlyn Wesley, as well as an in-depth analysis of that day’s race card.
