Scene A Magician went gate-to-wire to win the $13,000 Preferred Trot on Tuesday evening (Feb. 28) at The Raceway at the Western Fair District.

Garrett Rooney rocketed Scene A Magician from the rail to clear the top ahead of favourite Andy Over (Ed Hensley). Scene A Magician controlled the fractions in :28.2 at the quarter, :59.3 at the half and 1:28.3 at the three-quarters before opening up to win by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:58.2. Andy Over finished second and O Narutac Perfetto (Scott Coulter) was third.

Scene A Magician is a nine-year-old gelding trained and owned by Jennifer Pinkerton. After winning the feature trot, Scene A Magician moved his career earnings to $352,931 with 29 trips to the winner's circle.
