I Ama Rocket was a dominant winner in Monday’s $30,000 Pop Up Series Final for claiming pacers, and in doing so he established a new lifetime mark when he froze the teletimer in 1:51.4.

Trevor Henry hustled I Ama Rocket off the gate from Post 7, and together they raced parked outside of Legal Bettor to the quarter pole in :27.  I Ama Rocket then took command and rolled the field through middle fractions of :55.4 and 1:24.

He opened up a big lead at the head of the lane, and used a :27.4 closing quarter to win by 4-1/2 lengths over Legal Bettor in 1:51.4.  A Boy Named Suuzz took home the show dough in the nine-horse affair.       

Sent off at odds of 4-1, the seven-year-old son of Custard The Dragon-Machs Rocket scored the victory for Imagine Stable of L’ange-gardien, Que.  It was his second win of the year and the 22nd of his career.  With the win, he pushed his lifetime earnings well over $200,000.

Night Club Hanover was a 1:52.2 winner in the $20,000 Pop Up Series Consolation for claiming pacers for the duo of driver Sylvain Filion and trainer Richard Moreau.

Filion swept to the lead with the eight-year-old son of Rock N Roll Heaven-Northern Sky, and together they led the field past the quarter pole in :27.  Julerica then sprinted to the top in the backstretch and took the group through middle fractions of :55.2 and 1:24.1.  Night Club Hanover rallied in the lane, and his closing kick of :28 was enough to earn him the win by 1-3/4 lengths over Speaking Of Art in 1:52.2.  Machal Jordan rounded out the Trifecta ticket.  

Ecurie Francis Richard Inc, Dr. John Bradbury and Guillaume Desrochers share ownership on the gelding, who now owns a 2-0-1 record from seven trips to the track this season.  The 19-time winner has banked more than $137,000 to date.

The victory was one of five on the card for driver Sylvain Filion, who also nabbed wins with Shestheluckyone (1:55.3), Coin Flip (1:52.4), Tokyo Seelster (1:55.2) and Jim Strikesitrich (1:53.4).

The Quebec native, who has racked up more than $134 million in career purse earnings, needs just 156 wins to join the 10,000-win club.
