Outlaw C My Shadow Coast To Coast
Driver John Abbott grabbed the lead with Outlaw C My Shadow and saw no challengers as the field rung around the rosie in the $10,000 Open Pace on Friday night (Feb. 3) at Fraser Downs.
The six-year-old Shadow Play gelding plowed to a :27.2 first quarter with odds-on favourite Armycaptin Hanover opting for the pocket. But Outlaw C My Shadow kept all his competition in behind through a :57.1 half and to three-quarters in 1:25.2 before turning for home under no threat. He strolled to a 1:54.1 win by 1-3/4 lengths over Armycaptin Hanover with Joe Diamgio finishing third and Waitin Ona River fourth.
Connie Kolthammer trains Outlaw C My Shadow for owner Outlaw West Stable. He won his 13th race from 83 starts, has now earned $140,322 and paid $7.70 to win.
Trainer Kelly Hoerdt recorded a triple on the nine-race card. He won in Race 6 with Big Boy Hill (1:57.1 winning mile, $6.20 to win) and swept the late double with Chuck You Farlie (1:57.1, $24.70) and Lets Tie One On (1:55.3, $8.70).
