Bronx Seelster Best At The Meadows
Bronx Seelster launched and sustained an impressive first-over move that carried him to a narrow victory in the $21,200 Open Handicap Pace on Friday (Feb. 3) at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Bronx Seelster was fifth by six lengths when Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. sent him after the leader, Sandbetweenmytoes. It took nearly every inch of the stretch, but Bronx Seeleter finally poked his head in front to defeat Sandbetweenmytoes in 1:52.1. Surreal Ideal finished third in the Lightning Lane.
Ron Burke trains Bronx Seelster, a seven-year-old son of Big Jim-Baccarat who pushed his career bankroll to $865,396, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and Phillip Collura.
Wrenn notched four wins on the 13-race card, giving him 11 for the three-day racing week, while Burke fashioned a triple.
Live harness racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday, first post 12:45 p.m.
