Chase Lounge Strong In Meadows Feature
Used hard from post eight, 1-2 favourite Chase Lounge still had enough in the tank to hold off the late challenge of Slick Artist A in progress to victory in Wednesday’s (Jan. 11) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $12,100 filly & mare conditioned pace.
Chase Lounge took a seat fourth when Ronnie Wrenn Jr. sent her forward then moved to the point at the quarter. Slick Artist A, who had a similarly challenging trip from post seven, loomed large in the lane. Chase Lounge dug in and thwarted the challenger by a length in 1:53.1, with Leave Her Wild a rallying third.
Ron Burke trains Chase Lounge, a five-year-old daughter of Sweet Lou-Lounge Act who pushed her career bankroll to $236,925, for Burke Racing Stable, Eric Good and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
Dave Palone piloted three winners on the 13-race card.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday (Jan. 12) when the 13-race program features a $1,499.70 carryover in the Early Pentafecta (Race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m. (EST).
