Embrace The Grind Upsets In Dover Feature
Embrace The Grind took no prisoners winning the $18,000 Winners Over/Select Trot on Tuesday evening (Dec. 27) at Bally's Dover.
Pat Berry drove Embrace The Grind aggressively, parking out both Manatlas and Crystal Fashion through the :27 opening panel. Embrace The Grind continued on the engine through the :56 half while his challengers began to tire heading to the backstretch. JL Cruze, race favourite, failed to mount a four-wide rally around those foes. After reaching the three-quarters in an uncontested 1:25, Embrace The Grind maintained a 2-1/4-length lead over pocket rival Not For Money (Allan Davis). Embrace The Grind stopped the timer in 1:54.2. Northern Express (Russell Foster) finished third.
Bobby Glassmeyer owns and trains the six-year-old Keystone Activator gelding. Embrace The Grind paid $21.60 to win.
Racing at Bally's Dover continues on Wednesday (Dec. 28) with the feature race as the $18,000 Fillies and Mares Winners Over/Select Pace in race 10. First post is 4:30 p.m.
