Sea Laird Takes Western Fair Preferred
Sea Laird took control of the front at the quarter and never looked back in the $13,000 Preferred Pace at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Tuesday (Dec. 20) evening.
The opening panel was clocked in :28.1 before second choice Sea Laird and Paul MacKenzie cleared to the top. Sea Laird passed the half in :57.1 and three-quarters in 1:26 before opening up on the field in the stretch to win by 2-3/4 lengths in 1:55. Sea Laird, trained by Terry Gallant, paid $6.10 to win. Harpers Hat Trick (Travis Henry) finished second and Bettors Dream (Daniel Clements) held on for third.
Stacey Smith Robinson owns six-year-old Sea Laird, a winner of nine races this season, 22 lifetime victories and more than $185,000 in career earnings.
