Holiday cheer filled the Century Mile grandstand this past weekend after harness racing fans witnessed Santa defeat The Grinch in the race to save Christmas.

After throwing a fit and delaying the start of the race, The Grinch eventually emerged for the Century Mile match race with Santa. Braving North Pole-like temperatures in Edmonton on Saturday, Rudolph dashed ahead at the start of the race with Santa sitting chilly all the way to win while a sour Grinch, in rein to Max, chased in vain. 

Santa added Logan Gillis and Marissa Kleinsasser to the nice list for providing the horses for the non-wagering race.
