Kiss Me Im Irish Stars On Northside Season Finale
Northside Downs closed out its 2022 season on Saturday (Nov. 19) afternoon and Kiss Me Im Irish won the Winners Over feature race.
Kiss Me Im Irish (Ryan Campbell) took position on the far outside of the gate in the $1,700 main event. As the car pulled away, the field shuffled into single file in post position order with Kiss Me Im Irish 7-1/2 lengths off the leading favourite A Better Man (John Gerard Kennedy). The unchanged field breezed to the quarter in :28.4 when Gentry Seelster (Mark Pezzarello) pulled first over with Runaway Mystery (Harold Leblanc) in pursuit on Pezzarello's helmet. At the :59.3 half, Kiss Me Im Irish made her move off the rail and behind Runaway Mystery. Once the third quarter pole was reached in 1:29, Kiss Me Im Irish made one more move to the outside of Runaway Mystery. In the stretch, Campbell and Kiss Me Im Irish were able to accelerate on the outside to win by a nose in 1:59.2. A Better Man finished second and Gentry Seelster finished third.
