October's Calendar Photographer
The photographer being featured for the October issue of Standardbred Canada’s Heart of Harness Racing calendar is Orianna Scheck from Calgary, Alta.
The featured photo was taken by Scheck's horse Wish He Was (who goes by 'Wuzzy') on a beautiful fall morning last year at a training centre in the foothills in Southern Alberta.
"As usual, I had my camera with me, which is how I managed to capture the photo," said Scheck. "The colours in the fall are always so gorgeous. I loved how the sun was shining down on Wuzzy while jogging that morning.
"Sometimes I’ll take 100 photos and only get one or two 'great' photos. But I knew the photos on this morning were going to be special. I think that this photo could be one of the best photos I’ve ever captured. I’m passionate about horses and photography and together they both fill my heart."
Standardbred Canada has asked Scheck some “Rapid Fire” questions to gain a little bit more insight into her harness racing history and favourites.
