Black Tie Bash Triples At Rideau
The four-year-old Chapter Seven gelding Black Tie Bash bagged another victory at Rideau Carleton Raceway’s top class, the $10,500 Preferred Handicap Trot, on Thursday night (Oct. 20).
Assigned the outermost post in the scratched-down quintet, Black Tie Bash settled in fourth while Raising Rusty rolled on the point through a clip of :28.1, :58.3 and 1:26.4. Seeyou Men launched off the pegs from third moving to the final turn and pressed Raising Rusty with Black Tie Bash in tow. Driver Robert Shepherd then fired Black Tie Bash off cover spinning for home and slid to a 1-1/2-length victory in 1:56. Seeyou Men settled for second and Cold Rage closed for third.
Isabelle Darveau trains Black Tie Bash for owner Robert Shepherd. He won his 16th race from 59 starts, has now earned $142,758 and paid $2.90 to win.
