Field Set For Bulldog Hanover's Red Mile Debut
The field is set for world champion Bulldog Hanover's highly anticipated Red Mile debut this Sunday, Oct. 9 in the $153,000 Allerage Farms Open Pace.
Bulldog Hanover will headline the seven-horse field from post five, with regular reinsman Dexter Dunn in the sulky for Cambridge, Ont. trainer Jack Darling and co-owner Brad Grant of Milton, Ont.
The four-year-old son of Shadow Play, who is riding an 11-race win streak, already boasts five sub-1:47 miles including the 1:45.4 world record. Darling previously indicated that Bulldog Hanover's chance to lower that mark could come at the famed Lexington, Kentucky oval.
“Probably our only chance will be at Lexington,” said Darling in an interview last week prior to his Dayton Pacing Derby victory on Saturday night. “If you get decent weather and a good track, I’d just like to see what he could do. He always leads you to believe that there is more in the tank. It would be nice to see it. It will be exciting.”
