It was a dramatic, last-to-first sweep for HP Mama B and driver Sylvain Filion in Monday evening’s $34,000 Preferred Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

The Jean Tourigny trainee was nearly 14 lengths off the leader, Perfetto, at the quarter pole in :27.3, and she was still that far back when HP Royal Theo took over command at the mid-way point in :55.4.

HP Royal Theo was still in command at the three-quarter pole in 1:25, but the backfield was starting to come to life.  Pemberton powered up from far back and so did HP Mama B.  It was her final quarter kick of :27 that was enough to earn her the half-length decision over Pemberton in 1:53.1.  White Tiger was third.             

HP Mama B improved her seasonal record to 4-2-2 from 15 trips to the track for owner Claude Hamel of Ayer’s Cliff, Que.  The 14-time winner lifted her lifetime earnings to $498,393 with the victory.
