Free-For-All Pacers Set To Hook Up
No Plan Intended will aim for another Preferred victory Sunday afternoon (Sept. 25) but has some top notch competition at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval will host 10 dashes on a special rescheduled Sunday afternoon card with a 4 p.m. opening post time. The program was originally scheduled in the regular Saturday evening slot, but was moved by racing officials due to the impending landfall of Hurricane Fiona Friday evening into Saturday.
The Sunday top class lines up in race nine and No Plan Intended will have some serious competition in the $3,500 event. Jason Hughes drives the Jennifer Doyle trainee from post five after winning the class by open lengths last week from the rail in 1:53.2. Time To Dance has post four with the driver to be announced depending on whether Inverness Raceway in Nova Scotia will hold stakes action the same afternoon. Trainer and regular driver Marc Campbell is listed to drive on the Sunday card at the Cape Breton track in Atlantic Sires Stakes action. Time To Dance, a former Gold Cup and Saucer winning pacer, has made seven trips to the winner’s circle in 2022 including the Rod Goguen Memorial on Sept. 3 at Exhibition Park Raceway in Saint John, N.B., with Brodie MacPhee at the reins that day in 1:56.
Beachin Lindy has been a top player every start on 2022 since coming to the East Coast for trainer-driver Stephen Charlton and gets post three on Sunday. Moonwriter (to be driven by Ken Murphy) has the rail while Navalny (Adam Merner) leaves from post two.
The "Post Time Picks" like No Plan Intended on top: “We liked No Plan Intended’s chances last week and he delivered big time fronting it all the way and winning in 1:53.2. It was an impressive performance, and the Blue Knight returns so don’t be shocked if they win again.”
