Full Of Sand Prevails In Preferred
Full Of Sand, who had been a step or two behind the leaders in previous starts against The Meadows’ elite pacers, found a new gear Tuesday when he came first over to capture the $22,500 Preferred Handicap
.
Instead of his customary covered trip, Full Of Sand was the first to move down the backside for trainer-driver Ray Paver. He ground down the leader, Valentowner, and triumphed in 1:52.3. Biletnikoff shot the Lightning Lane for second, a neck back, while Valentowner saved show.
White Creek Stable owns Full Of Sand, a four-year-old Full Of Fun-Soft Towel gelding, who has banked over $100,000 in career earnings.
When live racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday, the first race will feature a superfecta carryover of $4,244.13. Post time is 6:55 p.m.
