Johnson Takes GLADA Trot
Christina Johnson won the $8,000 GLADA Trot Sunday night (Aug. 28) at Northfield Park with Go Go George in 1:58, marking the talented driver's sixth win this season in 19 starts.
Her victory tonight came with patience when she settled in the two-hole behind Dynamic Edge and followed him through fractions of :27.3 and :58.4 before Eddie Miller and Swan On A Mission challenged for the lead. At the three-quarters in 1:28.2, Dynamic Edge still had the lead, albeit by just a neck. But Johnson sat chilly and waited until the passing lane and then sent Go Go George to challenge for command. And in the deep stretch, he was the strong horse. At the wire, Go Go George was a neck winner over Swan On A Mission as the timer flashed 1:58. So Wishful got up for the show dough as Dynamic Edge faded and finished fourth.
Kiesha Ferrari owns the winner who is trained by John Capriotti. He paid $4.20 for the win
