Surreal Ideal Upsets At The Meadows
Surreal Ideal looped the field early from post eight and went on to complete the 9-1 upset in the featured pace on Saturday (Aug. 20) at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $14,000 conditioned pace.
It took more than the opening quarter for Surreal Ideal to reach the point, but once there, he held off the Lightning Lane challenge of Carolina Beach for Ridge Warren, downing him by a length in a sharp 1:50. The first-over Torrin Hanover finished third.
Vernon Beachy trains the four-year-old So Surreal-Jkmusicofthenite gelding, who vaulted over $100,000 in career earnings, and owns with Gitup Racing and Elise Kilmer.
Dan Charlino, Dave Palone and Warren joined trainers Ron Burke and Brandon Presto with doubles on the 11-race card.
Live harness racing at The Meadows resumes Wednesday when the program features a $3,297.38 carryover in the Jackpot Pick 5 (race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m.
