Maching Me Zilly Wins First Over In Meadows Feature
Maching Me Zilly moved smartly first over, held off the late charge of Elm Grove Nellie and captured Wednesday’s (August 17) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $9,900 filly & mare claiming handicap pace.
Maching Me Zilly had little trouble clearing her stablemate, Kissmydanceshoes, to reach the top. However, she still faced the threat of Elm Grove Nellie, who was following on her bumper. The eight-year-old daughter of Mach Three-Keystone Eliza responded to Brady Brown’s urging and scored in 1:53.2. Elm Grove Nellie finished half a length back in second, with Gators Ben Winning completed the ticket.
Brandon Presto trains Maching Me Zilly, who lifted her lifetime bankroll to $224,176, for Timmy Ryan, Laura Ryan and Tommy Ryan.
Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday when the 11-race program features a $1,421.22 carryover in the Jackpot Pick 5 (Race 4). First post is 12:45 p.m.
