Gagnon, Puddy Triple Again At Rideau
After both posted hat tricks on last Sunday’s card, the barns of Guy Gagnon and Victor Puddy brought more heat to Rideau Carleton Raceway on Sunday night (Aug. 14) to again each score a training hat trick.
Gagnon bookended the 11-race card with a win in the opener by Clodam Bayama ($2.50) and in the nightcap by Cutting Class ($2.40). His other win came in the evening’s ninth race with Flash Cube ($3.60), just before Puddy completed his hat trick.
Puddy’s evening started with a win to cap the early double by Howmac Victor ($8.80). He then returned to the winner’s circle a few races later with Officer Jones ($15.10) before landing his trick with a win to start the late double by Bankroll ($17.20).
Both Gagnon and Puddy rank atop the training leaderboards for the 2022 season at Rideau Carleton Raceway. Puddy holds a one-race lead on Gagnon with 44 as the pair encroach on Mandy Archer, who currently has the most wins on the meet with 60. Puddy, after expanding his Ontario operation back homeward in 2021, led all trainers at Rideau in purse money while Gagnon remains one of the grounds’ leading horseman and reigning champion driver.
