PEI Name That Foal Winners Announced

A Standardbred foal

The PEI Harness Racing Industry Association and the PEI Standardbred Breeders Association are pleased to announce the winners of the Name the Foal Contest. The contest was created to give children 12 years of age and younger the opportunity to learn about Standardbred breeding and the process involved in naming a Standardbred foal.

The contest participants submitted a name suggestion for a foal at each of the following Island breeding operations: Dusty Lane Farms, Elm Grove Farms, Howmac Farms, and Woodmere Farms.

Below are the winning participants and their name suggestions:

  • Ellie Driscoll — submitted the winning name of Elm Grove Talia for Elm Grove Farms. This foal is a filly by Arthur Blue Chip out of Queens Or Better.
  • Henry O'Shea — submitted the winning name of Woodmere Rocketman for Woodmere Farms. This foal is a colt by Bet The Moon out of Wild Ride Hanover.
