MacDonald Set To Return Thursday
Following a brief layoff, Canada's leading driver James MacDonald is set to return to the sulky on Thursday evening (Aug. 4).
MacDonald, who was out of action for a week due to a back injury from a boating accident, is scheduled to make his return in the $90,500 final of the Millard Farms Trotting Series at Woodbine Mohawk Park. He is listed to drive 2-1 favourite Lukes Bar for trainer David Menary in his first of two mounts on the Thursday card and will then be back with a full slate of drives this weekend at Mohawk.
MacDonald confirmed with Trot Insider that he is "good to go" for Thursday.
"I feel great so hopefully I can get back to the winner's circle soon," said the 36-year-old reinsman.
Canada's 2021 Driver of the Year continues to lead the standings this season with 231 wins and more than $4.5 million in purse earnings.
