All Day Sunshine Takes Meadows Feature
All Day Sunshine got the jump on 2-5 favourite Crisp Mane down the backside and easily defeated her in Wednesday’s feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $10,000 filly & mare conditioned pace.
All Day Sunshine was third down the backside, Crisp Mane fourth, when Mike Wilder sent All Day Sunshine first-over for the lead. Crisp Mane followed that cover, but the five-year-old daughter of Sunshine Beach-Mustang Kensley found another gear in the lane and defeated Crisp Many by 4-1/4 lengths in 1:51.4, just a tick off her lifetime mark. Diamond Official finished third.
Paul Corey trains All Day Sunshine, who lifted her career bankroll to $330,478, for Kenneth Ashba.
Jeremy Indof, Hunter Myers, Ridge Warren and Wilder each collected two wins on the 11-race card.
The Meadows recognized Myers for recently passing the $10 million milestone in career purses. Myers, 24, splits his driving time between The Meadows and Ohio tracks.
Thursday’s card at The Meadows features a $5,000 total-pool guarantee, offered in association with the United States Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Initiative, on the Early Pick 4 (Race 2). The program also includes a $1,238,17 carryover in the Jackpot Pick 5 (Race 4) and a $749.21 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 p.m.
